Inspiring collective action toward a thriving Glenderamackin.
I’m working with The Rivers Trust and West Cumbria Rivers Trust, who are looking to commission a bold physical piece of unique artwork to support their fundraising activities to protect and restore a 142 km square UNESCO World Heritage area of the Lake District, centred around Keswick and the river catchment upstream.
The commissioned artwork will appear front and centre in the campaign, across a wide range of materials both printed and digital, for example (but not limited to) pop-up banners, flyers, on West Cumbria Rivers Trust website, The Rivers Trust’s website, and possibly on funders and partner organisation’s websites.
The approved piece of artwork (we'd also be open to accepting a diptych or triptych series of panels, if that helps your storytelling) will need to be supplied in both digital format (high resolution 300dpi scan) and the physical piece delivered to West Cumbria Rivers Trust’s Head Office (courier costs will be covered). We’d also request a short biography about the piece and a link to your website. Once completed and paid for in full, the ownership for the commissioned artwork will transfer to West Cumbria Rivers Trust.
We have included a few web pages to inspire your vision (see below), and in terms of a colour palette please ensure to include some of the The Rivers Trust’s brand colours: Pantone Aqua 3115C (#00C1D4) Turquoise 3265C (#00C7B1) and Navy 295C (#002855). This will make it easier to integrate the piece with other creative campaign elements.
Some geographic features to consider include: Blencathra Mountain Peak, Castlerigg Stone Circle, and the scenery surrounding Keswick.
Format wise submitted pieces can be any format up to maximum A1 size (portrait or landscape or square), measuring 594×841 mm or 23.4×33.1 inches.
- Acceptable mediums on canvas: oil, watercolour, pastel, mixed media (no AI generated imagery will be considered)
- Budget for the project is: £1,000 (plus delivery costs)
- Deadline to deliver the initial sketches: Friday 20th September
- Feedback provided and amendments: Monday 1st October
- Final delivery of the digital scanned artwork: Friday 11th October
- Delivery of the physical piece of artwork: TBC later in October, less time critical.
