Editor (Remote)

Situ Live is the world’s first “Living Magazine”, enabling consumers to emotionally connect with products through exceptional storytelling. The editor will be responsible for creating and actioning the editorial strategy. This role will be pivotal in showcasing Situ Live as the “go to” place to discover, experience and choose innovation products – both online at situlive.com and at our physical stores.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for creating the editorial schedule and content strategy. It will be your responsibility to set the initial editorial direction and uphold our credibility through the creation and enforcement of the Situ Live editorial guidelines.

You will be responsible for creating story themes (based on the products and brands we have at Situ Live) as well as writing and directing the overall story schedule.

On a day to day basis your role will include reviewing all story content produced as well as developing strategies to consistently improve our editorial strength and direction. This role would be well suited to an individual who has real passion for one or many of the Situ Live product areas (connected living, automotive, sustainable world travel, fitness and/or wellbeing) along with strong research skills, excellent copywriting and script writing skills.

You will have one direct report (on a freelance basis) and this will grow over time.

Skills and experience

• Journalist / publishing background
• Excellent writing skills and ideally script writing experience
• Creative in your approach to writing and finding new ways to expand our content
• Excellent attention to detail with strong opinion and judgement
• Educated to degree stand in English or similar
• Experience of writing for SEO including keyword research, on-page recommendations (metadata, headings, internal linking etc)
• Comfortable with using user research and data to make content decisions
• Experience managing high volume, time sensitive production deadlines
• Ideally a strong leader who has experience in developing the editorial tone from scratch and can lead and inspire teams
• A management style that demonstrates high levels of self-awareness and emotional intelligence
• Must be comfortable with remote working with the occasional travel to Reading and London and other parts of UK as required
