In this painting I'm exploring themes of 'spaciousness', 'stillness', and 'clarity'. The work reflects my contemplative spirituality, vital for life today in a complex and busy world. The glass comes from my collection purchased from local charity shops. The blossom comes from a hedgerow on the Cornish coastpath. The work therefore also explores how beauty and serenity are often overlooked, especially in the discarded and 'unimportant'. I paint in oils because I love the texture, subtlety and adaptability of the medium.
