In this painting I'm exploring themes of 'spaciousness', 'stillness', and 'clarity'. The work reflects my contemplative spirituality, vital for life today in a complex and busy world. The items come from my collection purchased from local charity shops. The work therefore also explores how beauty and serenity are often overlooked, especially in the discarded and 'unimportant'. I paint in oils because I love the texture, subtlety and adaptability of the medium.
