BOULEVARD BERLIN 2012 Schloßstraße in Berlin Steglitz is one of the city’s major shopping streets. A new kind of shopping centre is to be created here by rebuilding and combining the sites of the Wertheim and Karstadt department stores. This Boulevard Berlin is seen as a small new urban district. Located at the centre of Schloßstraße it is made up of different buildings that, together with narrow streets and squares, offer an intensive presentation of public space. The largest block here is the Karstadt department store that represents a more traditional type of shopping centre.
