A-Muses in Art

'A-Muses in Art' is about cultural 'Icons'. Maralyn Monroe appears as an angel... the wall-mounted image is one of my merged portrait works in which Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa is combined with Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring and transmogrified to become the new Girl with a Pearl Ring. The minimal white interior space alludes to a kind of reverential monastic environment in which meditation might occur. The aim of the work is to cause the viewer think about cultural icons... how and why individuals and objects become elevated to an iconic state in our consciousness. My artworks can be printed on a variety of materials and have the potential to be produced in a range of sizes, including large scale production.
